micron-water-tank-filter-bag-traps-dirt-sand-rust
Micron Water Tank Filter Bag – Traps Dirt, Sand & Rust

Everything your water supply carries in — sand from the borewell, silt after the monsoon, rust flakes off old municipal pipes — ends up settling on the floor of your overhead tank. From there it works its way into every tap, geyser and washing machine in the house.

This bag ties onto the inlet pipe inside the tank, so the sediment is caught at the point where the water arrives rather than cleaned up afterwards.

How it works

The slotted cap clamps around the inlet pipe and the fabric bag hangs below it inside the tank. Water passes through the 5 micron non-woven fabric; sand, silt, mud and rust particles do not. When the fabric turns visibly brown, untie it, rinse the sediment out, let it dry and put it back.

What it does not do

This is a sediment filter, not a purifier. It removes suspended solids. It does not remove bacteria, viruses or dissolved chemicals, and it does not make water safe to drink on its own — you still need an RO or UV purifier for drinking water. We would rather say that here than have you find out later.

Specifications

Filtration: 5 micron sediment

Size: 20 in x 4 in (approx. 51 cm x 10 cm)

Material: white non-woven filter fabric with a moulded slotted cap

Fits: standard overhead water tank inlet pipes

Traps: sand, dirt, silt, mud and rust particles

Reusable: yes — rinse, dry and refit

Brand: Noir Aqua

In the box: 1 filter bag with cap
